I began training in parkour by taking parkour classes with Francesco Caban (http://www.alliedparkourtraceurfederation.com) the summer before I started at ASU (summer 2008) and went through his entire intro program. I gained a great love for parkour and a greater love/appreciation for movement. The study of movement and restoring it to those who have lost it is my goal as a Bioengineer.
After school started (and marriage as I got married Dec 2008) my personal practice of parkour and acrobatics fell by the way side. Over the past year I have not been able to stop the constant thoughts of parkour (which drives my wife crazy sometimes). My heart has ached for the time I once had to devote to my practice. As a result of this inner struggle and with encouragement from my wonderful wife I have committed again to my personal parkour practice.
This blog is where I will record my development for others who come after me and to track my own personal progress. These entries will consist of my current weight (as gaining muscle weight is one of the goals of my practice since I lost 10 lb. of muscle weight once I stopped my practice), what I eat (as proper nutrition is an essential aspect for any physical discipline), the exercises I do, and my progression on parkour and acrobatic techniques. I'm afraid I am going to have to start slow as I have lost most of what I once had, but that is okay. My method of measuring success in my practice is if I am consistently pushing and progressing in my effort to become harder, better, faster, stronger. Today begins my recommitment to the practice of parkour in and of itself and as a means to increase my physical and mental durability, dexterity, and strength.
TODAY IS THE DAY!!
this looks..um...exciting? is it code?
